sylvester stallone-4-1024x1024Stallone was born in a hospital for the poor in New York's Hell's Kitchen. Forceps that he was using during his birth caused damage to a facial nerve giving him an eyelid that was droopy and a speech impairment. Stallone spent a large portion of his childhood in boarding facilities. He returned to his family when he turned five years old and relocated with them to Maryland. Following his divorce from his parents in 1957, Stallone initially lived with his father. However, he moved to Philadelphia at the age of 15 to be with his newlywed mother. He went to a private high school specifically for teens who were troubled because of his history with having been expelled from schools.
