Silk is a Canadian born academic. She was raised in Fredericton. She was the daughter of Peter Silk, a professor, and Ilkay Silk, a prominent actor, director, producer, playwright, educator, and director of drama at St. Thomas University. Anna is able to recall some of her first memories of her childhood, like seeing her mother work during play rehearsals. Silk was a part of a variety of commercials in which she appeared as a child. She earned a Bachelors in Arts from St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas has produced two shows in its beginning: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk began her acting career when she moved to Toronto the Canadian city of Toronto at the end of November in 1999. After that, she relocated to Los Angeles for the remainder of the decade. Seth Cooperman met Silk at an Actors Workshop in Los Angeles in 2007. In 2009 they were wed in a civil ceremony in December of 2009. Following her conversion to Judaism and they renewed their wedding vows at the Jewish ceremony on the 10th of April 2011.
